The foreign ministers of the United States and Russia have had a telephone conversation in which the exchange of prisoners and the situation in Ukraine were discussed.

According to Russian media, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that supplying weapons to the Ukrainian army will prolong the conflict and increase losses.

The Russian Foreign Minister says that the US sanctions have complicated the current situation.

The Russian Foreign Minister has invited his American counterpart to adopt quiet diplomacy over the exchange of prisoners.

As per the joint declaration, they also discussed ensuring global food security.

In the declaration, the two foreign ministers also discussed improving bilateral relations.
