Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has said that he will request the international community to reschedule the loan for the flood victims.

The federal minister while talking about the war said that we made the international community aware of the devastation and damage caused by the worst floods in the country in decades.

Ahsan Iqbal said that the National Disaster Management Authority has given a briefing to the ambassadors of important countries in Islamabad, and announcements of heavy aid are expected soon.

He said that human lives, cultivated crops, animals and infrastructure have been severely damaged in the entire country including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan.

He said that huge amount of money will be required for compensation, relief and reconstruction of this loss.

Ahsan Iqbal said that he will request aid from friendly countries while it is also being considered that the countries that have to return the loan should be discussed to reschedule the loan.

He said that in case of rescheduling, the loan repayment installments will be spent on the welfare of the flood victims.

He said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif have full sympathies with the flood victims and now the government's full attention will be focused on the rehabilitation of the flood-affected people.

Ahsan Iqbal said that the Gwadar port was damaged by planning in the previous government because the port was famous all over the world for its depth.

He said that due to the lack of cleaning of the port in the last four years, the depth of Gwadar port is now only 10 to 12 feet where only small trawlers can anchor.

He said that big ships are no longer anchoring here while now we are tenders for cleaning the port.

He further said that the construction of industrial zone in Gwadar is also going on at a fast pace which was stopped for the last 4 years.
