Azam Nazir Tarar has reacted to the President's statement regarding the appointment of the new Army Chief.

In a statement, Azam Nazir Tarar said that the President should stop trying to do politics, the President has no role under the Constitution in the appointment of the Army Chief.

The Law Minister said that the President is politicizing the issue to achieve objectives contrary to the constitutional role, the opposition was not consulted on this issue, and this is the prerogative of the Prime Minister.

In an interview yesterday, the President of the State said regarding the appointment of the Army Chief that the appointment of the Army Chief will be according to the constitutional method, it is better if the name of the new Army Chief comes after consultation, the consultation should be extended so that a consensus can be reached.
