In most online platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, users have their own unique username or handle to easily identify their accounts.

But YouTube is one of the few services that does not even have the concept of using a username.

But in the coming weeks, YouTube is changing in this regard.

YouTube announced in a blog post that usernames or handles are being added to the video-sharing platform.

Its purpose is to make the YouTube channel easier for viewers to access.

According to the company, every user will have a @username and you don't have to be the creator.

As mentioned above, the use of usernames is common in social media, but until now YouTube had limited support for it, meaning creators could mention their channel with @ in video titles or their channel in YouTube live chats. can be used.

But the username is not available for other areas of this service and the user has to be tagged in response to a comment.

YouTube is now paying a lot of attention to short videos i.e. shorts, which also encourage interaction between users.

Achieving this goal will require the use of usernames that YouTube calls to handle.

According to YouTube, the new handles will appear on channel pages and shorts.

This feature will be gradually introduced to users from next week.
