Chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Noor Alam Khan says that the mafia is sitting in electricity distribution companies, if any work is against the rules, they will send it to NAB and FIA.

A meeting of the Public Accounts Committee was held under the chairmanship of Noor Alam Khan, in which the issue of energy and electricity distribution companies was reviewed.

In the meeting, the energy secretary said that the circular debt of the energy sector has reached 2 thousand 600 billion rupees, the circular debt has increased by 1 thousand 600 billion in 4 years, and the government has decided not to install new plants with imported fuel.

 The energy secretary said that there are issues of generation, distribution, and tariff in the power sector, there is a change in the value of the dollar, circular debt has increased, and coal is imported from Afghanistan and Africa for power plants.

The energy secretary added that Afghan coal is costing Rs 72,000 per ton, Afghanistan's coal is more expensive than Africa, and the existing plants will be shifted to other sources.
