Another judge of the Supreme Court wrote a letter on the previous day's meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan.




Justice Sardar Tariq Masood has written a letter to the Chief Justice and the members of the Judicial Commission in which he has said that when the Judicial Commission meeting began, the Chief Justice told about the details of his nominated judges and Justice (R) Sarmad Jalal Usmani appointed four judges. Justice Tariq Masood says that Justice (retd) Sarmad Jalal Usmani gave an opinion against the appointment of a judge, Justice Ijazul Hassan and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah approved the names of the Chief Justice and I also gave my opinion in my turn. Asked for the appointment of Justice Athar Minullah in the Supreme Court.



Justice Tariq Masood said that I also disapproved the nomination of three judges of the Sindh High Court and one of the Lahore High Court. Justice Athar Minullah is the senior-most judge among the Chief Justices of the High Courts. Attorney General, Law Minister and Bar Council representatives. Agreed with me.



Justice Tariq Masood has said in the text of the letter that the Attorney General, Law Minister and Bar Council representatives disapproved the appointment of four nominated judges.



According to the text of the letter, Justice Faizaisa was giving the reasons for disapproving the nominations on behalf of the Chief Justice, during which the Chief Justice got up and left the meeting without writing down the decision of the Commission.



 Justice Tariq Masood said that Justice Faiz Isa agreed with my opinion to disapprove the nominated judges, the matter was clear that five members of the commission had disapproved the nominations. Got up from the meeting.




The letter states that instead of ending the regular meeting, the Chief Justice adjourned it, it was clear that five members of the commission had rejected the nominations, how the press release of the Supreme Court PRO was issued. The PRO is not a member of the commission, the statement issued by the Supreme Court spokesperson is contrary to the facts, the Supreme Court spokesperson is not a member of the judicial commission, nor the secretary.



Justice Sardar Tariq Masood demanded that the Chief Justice should release the correct minutes of the Judicial Commission meeting immediately, making the detailed minutes of the Judicial Commission public would put an end to rumours.



It should be noted that the names of judges nominated by the Chief Justice were rejected by a majority vote in the Judicial Commission meeting chaired by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Umar Atta Bandial.
