Additional Director of the Directorate of Private Institutions Prof. Rafia Mallah took strict notice of corporal punishment of students in private educational institutions.

The Additional Director of the Directorate of Private Institutions, Prof. Rafia Mallah, has issued a letter to all private schools and said that under condition '4(h)' of Form 'B' (Registration Certificate), students should not be physically punished under any circumstances. go

He has told in the post that in this regard, the Department of School Education and Literacy. The government of Sindh has made rules under the said act, and all institutions are bound to strictly implement these rules.

He has warned that if any incident of this nature occurs in any school, Section-8 (Cancellation/Suspension of Certificate of Registration) of Sindh Private Educational Institutions (Regulation and Control) Ordinance 2001, Amendment Act 2003 ) will be authorized to take strict action under.

It should be noted that there are frequent incidents of physical violence against students in educational institutions, in view of which the Sindh government presented the 'Sindh Prohibition of Corporal Punishment Act 2016' bill last year.

According to the said law, punishing children, causing physical, mental, and emotional harm in educational institutions and madrasas will be a crime.

Under the law, child sexual abuse can also be severely punished.
