The Nepali cricketer, who faced the charge of rape, was detained by the police on his return home.

According to foreign media, the former captain, 22-year-old Sandeep Lame Chane, returned to the country about a month after the arrest warrant was issued by the court. He has already denied the allegation of rape.

According to the local police, the cricketer had written on his social media account that he was going back to Nepal to face the charges.

Sandeep Lame Chane wrote on social media that he will fully cooperate in all stages of the investigation and will fight a legal battle to prove his innocence.

According to foreign media, the captaincy of the Nepal cricket team was withdrawn from Sandeep Lame Chane after the court issued a warrant on September 8 last month.

According to reports, a 17-year-old girl has accused Sandeep Lame Chane of raping her in a hotel in Kathmandu.
