The Taliban say the government had no information about al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri entering and taking up residence in Kabul.

The Taliban government in Afghanistan warned the US to refrain from attacking Afghan soil in the future.

Doha-based Special Representative of the Taliban to the United Nations, Sohail Shaheen, said in a statement that the government and the Taliban leadership did not know about Ayman al-Zawahiri.

He said that there is no proof of the claims being made about the presence of Al-Qaeda leaders in Afghanistan.

Taliban leader Sohail Shaheen added that an investigation into the claims is underway which will be made public once completed.

It should be noted that the Taliban leaders are completely silent about the drone attack on Sunday, they have neither confirmed nor denied the death of Ayman al-Zawahiri.

It has been said by the Taliban that if such incidents happen again and the borders of Afghanistan are violated, the United States will be responsible for any consequences.
