PTI's request to immediately suspend the by-election schedule of 9 constituencies was rejected

The Islamabad High Court rejected the request of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf to immediately suspend the by-election schedule of 9 constituencies.

Justice Amir Farooq of the Supreme Court issued notices to the parties while hearing PTI's request to suspend the by-election schedule of 9 constituencies.

Justice Amir Farooq asked PTI's lawyer Faisal Chaudhry that what is the legal reason for suspending the election schedule? You are requesting to stop an election, give any legal justification for it, the National Assembly seats became vacant, then the Election Commission announced the election.

PTI's lawyer Faisal Chaudhry replied that the petition against the phased acceptance of resignations is under hearing, we are ready to fight the elections, hold elections in 123 constituencies.

Justice Amir Farooq said that election will be held in 123 constituencies too, let it happen first, PTI should fight this by-election first.

The Islamabad High Court adjourned the hearing of the application till August 16.
