The crisis of shortage of medicines in the whole country started intensifying, and the Punjab Health Department requested the help of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association.

Additional Secretary of Punjab Health Department says that currently, 53 essential medicines are not available in the province, Pakistan Medical Association (PPM) should use its influence to make the missing medicines.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister's Inspection Team also started an inquiry into the shortage of medicines.

The Prime Minister's inspection team summoned the Drug Regulatory Authority, PPMA, and other authorities over the shortage of medicines.

Pakistan Medical Association (PPM) says that the drugs that are not available in the country are from multinational companies, drugs from multinational companies have stopped coming for thalassemia, cancer, and transplant patients.

The PPMA also says that the cost of raw materials abroad and the increase in the value of the dollar are increasing the crisis of medicines.

Officials said a 3 percent tax on imports of foreign-made drugs has started to reduce imports.

Doctors and pharmacists have claimed that there is a shortage of more than 100 essential medicines across the country.
